Prof. Dr. Friederike A. Eyssel
Als Sozialpsychologin versuche ich, die psychologischen Grundlagen des menschlichen Verhaltens zu verstehen. Seit meiner Zeit als Post-Doc gehört für mich Interdisziplinarität zum Forschungsalltag, etwa im Rahmen meines Stipendiums als assoziierter Post-Doc im DFG-Graduiertenkolleg zum Thema "Gruppenbezogene Menschenfeindlichkeit". Damals war mein Interesse an Prozessen der Dehumanisierung geweckt, d.h., warum wir anderen Menschen essenziell menschliche Eigenschaften absprechen. Gleichzeitig galt es zu verstehen, warum wir wiederum dazu neigen, nicht-menschlichen Wesen menschenähnliche Eigenschaften zuschreiben.
Als Juniorprofessorin für "Gender & Emotion in Cognitive Interaction Technology" am damaligen Center of Excellence in Cognitive Interaction Technology (CITEC) konnte ich ab 2009 mein Forschungsprofil etablieren. Ich gehöre zu den Pionieren der Erforschung sozialer Robotik mit einem experimentellen sozialpsychologischen Ansatz. Diesen setze ich in nationalen und internationalen Forschungsprojekten um.
Zwischen 2010 und 2015 nahm ich Gastprofessuren an verschiedenen renommierten Universitäten an, z.B. an der Universität Münster, der TU Dortmund, der Universität zu Köln und an der New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD). Auf diese Weise konnte ich mein Lehrportfolio erweitern und mich für eine Professur an der Universität Bielefeld qualifizieren. Seit 2015 bin ich Professorin für Angewandte Sozialpsychologie und Genderforschung an der Universität Bielefeld.
Für mein nachhaltiges Engagement für Gleichstellung wurde ich 2021 mit dem Gleichstellungspreis der Universität Bielefeld ausgezeichnet. 2021 erhielt ich zudem den Karl-Peter Grotemeyer Preis für Exzellenz in der Hochschullehre. 2022 erhielt ich den IEEE-RAS Distinguished Lecturer Award.

Als Sozialpsychologin versuche ich, die psychologischen Grundlagen des menschlichen Verhaltens zu verstehen. Seit meiner Zeit als Post-Doc gehört für mich Interdisziplinarität zum Forschungsalltag, etwa im Rahmen meines Stipendiums als assoziierter Post-Doc im DFG-Graduiertenkolleg zum Thema "Gruppenbezogene Menschenfeindlichkeit". Damals war mein Interesse an Prozessen der Dehumanisierung geweckt, d.h., warum wir anderen Menschen essenziell menschliche Eigenschaften absprechen. Gleichzeitig galt es zu verstehen, warum wir wiederum dazu neigen, nicht-menschlichen Wesen menschenähnliche Eigenschaften zuschreiben.
Als Juniorprofessorin für "Gender & Emotion in Cognitive Interaction Technology" am damaligen Center of Excellence in Cognitive Interaction Technology (CITEC) konnte ich ab 2009 mein Forschungsprofil etablieren. Ich gehöre zu den Pionieren der Erforschung sozialer Robotik mit einem experimentellen sozialpsychologischen Ansatz. Diesen setze ich in nationalen und internationalen Forschungsprojekten um.
Zwischen 2010 und 2015 nahm ich Gastprofessuren an verschiedenen renommierten Universitäten an, z.B. an der Universität Münster, der TU Dortmund, der Universität zu Köln und an der New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD). Auf diese Weise konnte ich mein Lehrportfolio erweitern und mich für eine Professur an der Universität Bielefeld qualifizieren. Seit 2015 bin ich Professorin für Angewandte Sozialpsychologie und Genderforschung an der Universität Bielefeld.
Für mein nachhaltiges Engagement für Gleichstellung wurde ich 2021 mit dem Gleichstellungspreis der Universität Bielefeld ausgezeichnet. 2021 erhielt ich zudem den Karl-Peter Grotemeyer Preis für Exzellenz in der Hochschullehre. 2022 erhielt ich den IEEE-RAS Distinguished Lecturer Award.
